Paris Mentor Session

Samuel Goldwyn quotes: “The harder I work, the luckier I get” And this is so true in the photographic industry. With so much competition and incredible photographers around, you really have to be on top of it all, not just a good photographer. There is no such thing as luck, but by working hard for something there is definitely reward.

Running a business, developing your style and your social media presence is key to success as a photographer these days. This is why I developed my AMBIENCE workshop. Ambience is a one-on-one day, where I share my experience and knowledge that I have gathered over 14 years, going to many workshops across the globe to collect. From camera settings, to editing techniques, to posing and marketing even analog. All compacted into 6 hours of intense learning and shooting. I have also published my own book with extra information and give each attendee a signed copy of it.

Nadia is a photographer from Switzerland and booked a session with me when she heard I was going to Paris in 2019. We spent the day at the Okko Hotel in Paris, starting with great coffee and breakfast, French style. After intense discussions, portfolio reviewing and playing with camera settings, we went to the Trocadero to do a mini session of her and also me so she can test all her new tips. She took some great shots of me that you can see on her instagram page and website.

I never thought that teaching could be so rewarding, and now when I look back at my very first workshop in Germany in 2016 and all the attendees in-between I feel very proud that I have a bit of influence on what they as photographers have achieved.

Some of my previous attendees: Hanri Human Photography, Cindy Hawley Photography, Chanre Van der Merwe Photography, Suzelle de Lange Photography and now Photography by Nadia Roos.

I will soon extend my teaching to Madrid in July depending on our world Corona epidemic.
