All things Floral in Paris

This time around, I looked at Paris with a completely different perspective. Part because I am now a fully etablished flower farmer, and part because I had my 10 year old daughter with me. This trip was anticipated 6 years ago, when my daughter Ella and I fell in love with the movie “A Monster in Paris”. I promised her that one day I would take her there so she can see all the sights in the movie. Alas! 2023 was our Paris year! And we decided to go in April so I could celebrate my 40th birthday in my favourite city with her. It is Spring in Paris!

Our days were filled with endless beauty, Parisian style. Shops decorated in impressive floral displays, cherry blossom trees around every corner. Stunning Tulip and Daffodil displays in the parks and gardens. All things floral!

Our whole Floral Paris experience was custom made by Coco from Travellur

A very special friend made reservations for us at Le Petit Chatelet, where we sat in front of the top window on the right, had a delicious 3 course meal whilst talking, dreaming and looking at the towers of the Notre Damme. This image will probably become a print on our wall at home.

One morning, after a cup of Hot Chocolate and a croissant at the famous Angelina’s, Coco Chanel style, we headed off to the Sceaux museum also known as the Cherry Blossom Chateau. There we walked through the most beautifully manicured gardens, breathtakingly beautiful forest, the cherry blossom orchards and also the old farmhouse with a display of antiques. And yes, there were flowers everywhere! If not in the garden, the Chateau had flower decorations everywhere, wallpapers, decopage, fabrics and dinner sets, all with blooms.

In the movie “A monster in Paris” one of the most important scenes are in a huge greenhouse, so visiting the Jardin Des Plants and its great greenhouses was a must. We walked for hours just amazed by the vast display of plants from across the world.

Bountiful blooms at every corner, even the shop displays where filled with stunning floral displays. It looks like flowers are trending!

An absolute must do is the Bastille market. It was filled with fresh blooms and produce. A very tasty experience.

Vanderfax will be launching a fragrance range that is inspired by our floral travels. Developed and custom made in France but made with all natural South African products.

Jardin des Tuileries

We made a point of walking through the Tuileries garden every day, and every time it was different.

And then, we said goodbye to Paris and spent our last few hours lounging, talking and writing in the lounge at Charles de Gaulle airport, which looks like something out of a Gatsby movie.
