Jacques & Angelique
These two are not new to my blog, they have been featured a few times before and every time their session was almost flawless. Let me just make it clear, I am in love with real, so a perfectly flawless shoot won’t grab me. I love to stay true to myself and my client and have natural spontaneous moments included, even if they aren’t perfect. The beauty sometimes lie in the flaws.
I would love to share with you how to get beautiful couple photos. My first bit of advice you have heard a million times before: Just be you, be honest and enjoy it! No person smiles all the time, so why would you put up your smiley face every time you look at the camera, eye contact is also not always necessary. Best thing to do is to go with the flow, smile when something is funny, play when you feel the need, stare into the distance when you see something, embrace the surroundings, feel the sand under your feet, the wind against you skin and lastly, just apply the direction your photographer gives you.
I have been a portrait and wedding photographer for 15 years, and never once did I not look at my client and try to capture them, their beauty and their personality. We see you, and we see the beauty in the natural. All you have to do is put on your favourite dress and be yourself.
I think Jacques and Angelique make the perfect couple session, not because they are perfect and neither am I. I get out of focus shots sometimes. I miss moments too. Their success lies in their enjoyment. They embrace their surrounding, enjoy each others company and spent time together as if just walking on the beach. Real photos come from real moments. Real hugs. Real smiles. Real looks.
We did this session on a beach close to Mosselbay, and just walking on the beach, sitting in the sand, running and playing made the session as beautiful as it is. The beautiful light that beach sand reflects is so stunning, and even though we had overcast weather, we made use of the wind, environment and light to create this stunning session.
